A little help here pls…

I’m in the dark over here, so I hope someone can shed a little light on my case.

I have been working all my career as a webdesigner / webmaster until the last year when the company I was working for went to bankrupcy. Besides my 6 year experience as a webdesigner I have the third year/grade of Computer Engeneering course, and some knowledge in the Networking and Operating Systems area. My problem is that I want to start a career in Network Administration / Network Security, but I need more knowledge and experience in this area. The big question: how and from where should I start? What should I study, which certefications should I take? Is there a master plan that I can follow to get a job in Netadmin?
