A little wisdom would be nice….

Ok, here’s the deal. I come from a elec.
tech. background. I like the comp. side and was encouraged to seek MS certs as a
way to get into the software side.
So
after awhile I get a good paying gig in
a Military simulations company. They even offered more money then I asked
for. I know, so whats wrong.

Well,I was hired as a Sr.Elect.Tech Network admin, which I think is fine.
They said I would only see 30% Net admin duties(ease me in)sorta speak.

Ok,it’s a start. The thing is that I do about 80% NT admin tasks(cool!),but the other guy, I.S manager, will not show me anything,i.e. quirks, tips, intimate knowl. of this network.
If he does something, it when I am not available, like changes or additions.I only find out later when something is operating diff. that I ask & he fesses up.

He ONLY tells me what he has to.I don’t want him to hold my hand, but,When I ask for assistance,He cops a mood.
And we use crap S/W like ccmail8.4,
& the network was built by3 diff.
companies,so nothing in the wireroom matches the ports on the walls. With everything not labeled/wrong, I dont think anyone could walk in & know which way is up.
Iv’e done everything to be cool to this cat…give him S/W,loan him my Mcse books, etc.
He is condesending & self-rightous.
