Access 2007 report export to Word rtf

I have an access 2007 database that holds titles of documents amongst other things. The field for the titles is a memo field rich text. The reason it is rich text is because some of the titles have italicized words in them. I have a report that shows me the data from this field that looks fine, complete with italics and bold headings. When I export to Word rtf, the bold is there but all the italics are gone! When I export to a pdf the italics are there. I really need the italics to export as this is the main reason I even put this into 2007. Can someone please help me?
