Access Exchange from home

by the young one . Updated 23 years ago

Hi All,
we’ve become part of a WAN at the start of this year and for security all unnecessary ports have been disallowed.

I personally use my home computer (WinXP with Outlook XP) to read my work email (Exchange 2000)
but have found that this year the port has been blocked for this facility.

I have tested all settings and have found that my pc can talk to the server in all email capacities except for POP3. It tells me to check the port number i’m using. From work knowledge I would assume that this port is blocked.

Can anyone tell me if i’m on the wrong horse or otherwise which port I need to allow to get into my mail from home?

I don’t need to get into the SMTP server as my ISP is my SMTP server.

Cheers everyone and hope uhave a great weekend.
