Acer Aspire Vista Restore Disc Creation

Hello there. I’ve Googled high and low looking for a reasonable solution to my question. Maybe my googlefoo isn’t up to par or maybe there answer really wasn’t there.

I really would like to make a restore disc before I start using this new lap top. They would have made a disc at the store, but they wanted $100 to do so which seemed like a high pressure sale to me, so I repeatedly said no. Each time the consequences of not doing so seemed to get worse, or so the sales person would have me believe.

Anyway, if somebody knows of a good resource for this information, or can advise me in anyway, I’d really appreciate it. (even if the advice is go to the store and let them do it)
