Acer laptop bios problems

Acer laptop bios problems
Hi, I am helping a friend get into his laptop. He has an Acer Aspire 5050, and he has forgot his Windows password. I burned an iso image for password reset. It worked on my computer, so it isn’t the cd. The laptop bios is not recognizing cdrom or usb key. I changed the boot order priority, even excluded the hdd, and nothing. Cdrom does not even show up in the F12 BOOT MENU. Can someone help?
