Activate win xp.

dear all,

Please tell,I hv preloaded laptop win xp pro.windows crufted suddenly, then i hv not cd n i installed wd hcl cd bt it asking 4 activation. i put key which is microsoft sticker bt it doesent activate.
Pleasehelp me how to activate my windows..
i have only today ledt. 4 activation.
