active dir and dns on the same server…?

At our facility we are going from WinNT to Win2k servers and workstations.

We are starting from scratch. New domain controller. DNS server active dir exchange etc…

I need some ideas or tips on what should be on the same server. I know the AD intergrated zones will only work if my dns server is also a domain controlller.. should I do this.. we have started some test and temp setups.

I now have my domain controller and Active dir on the same server and DNS server seperate…

is the the best way to do this..

FYI we have about 250 users and are going to connect to a statewide WAN
