Add/Remove Windows XP components

I am runing Windows XP profesional and recently have noticed that i can not access Add/Remove Windows Components under Add/Remove programs option on the Control Panel. Every time when i start that option Windows Setup Wizard starts and gives me a message that it is configuring Windows according to components selected after few seconds gives me a message that everything is done. Does anyone knows what is hapening.
