Adding 2nd server to a Win 2KDomain?

Can someone help me configure my second server to a single server local domain? I think I have DNS setup correctly on the DC on the first server and AD is installed. I am trying to add another server which will act as a backup using replication. No DNS setup on the 2nd server. I can’t do dcpromo. Thus no AD setup on 2nd server. Thanks
