adding wireless as 2nd computer to 2wire dsl

I have the HomePortal 1000sw set up on my home PC via USB.
I need to add a wireless laptop,
How in the heck??!!
Running XP on both, the laptop is good to go (d-link card) and looking for a signal, I just can NOT get my PC/2wire set up to add a second computer via wireless.
