Allow/Deny access to a folder across an XP network

by rosstamon . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

Hello all. I have a 3 PC network at home. The truth is I’m not sure whether to say it’s a workgroup or network. If this is something you need to know, please give me instructions on how to do answer this question.

Scenario:
Computer A is a Desktop with XP Pro
Computer B is a Laptop with XP Home
Computer C is a Laptop with XP Pro

Computer A (Desktop) contains a print share and it contains an external HD that is shared.

I would like to deny access to one folder on the external HD to Laptop C and allow access to that folder to Laptop B.

Additionally, is the same procedure used to deny all access to the external HD to Laptop C while allowing Laptop B total access?

I don’t know how to do this, but I’m sure it’s possible. I hope I’ve given all the info you need. I set this “network” up myself and I am not a computer genius. So please approach your answer with that in mind.

Thank you in advance. And have a pleasant day.
