I have a site serving a splash page using Apache V1.3 which all works fine
for a PC. My problem is that users of a Macintosh get strange results when
they attempt to use the pages.
An example is as follows: in the URL type www.askalix.com/ukChoose Services button accross the top.
try the WAP Services button sa couple of times.
As I say the PC will work forever, but the MAC using MS Explorer will
basically lock up completely and never recover.
At first I thought that the timeouts for Apache might be at fault somehow
for socket connectivity, but that is simply not the case – no values or
tweaking fixes it.
I have also read about FIN_WAIT_2 but even a last resort disabling the main keepalive timer makes no difference.
I am going hairless – anyone have ANY ideas or hints???
