ArcServeIT backup routine scenario
Hello fellow techies,
I am facing an issue, that I could use some feedback on. I support a LAN with approx. 75 users(all windows), 7 or 8 NT servers and one of which is dedicated to backups. With no pryor knowledge of backup routines, I am really in the dark as to how to get started. Obviously the tapes need to be stored offsite, and I want to perform daily incremental backups, with full backups every week, and full backups every month. The software has scheduling capabilities, and is pretty self-explanatory. However…
I think what would be helpful is a scenario of some kind. Tell me what you did, or give me a link to a helpful site other than the vendor… I’ve been there many times.
The software we are using is ArcServeIT 6.61, we have only one tape drive attached, which is a Techmar DDS3 with a cartridge that holds 7 tapes.(24 GB each) Somehow, I can’t seem to visualize the routine. Also am having major difficulty with the Exchange option. If anyone has some feedback it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
