Are Traditional CCTV Cameras Becoming Outdated in 2026?

I’ve been noticing how fast home security technology is evolving. Traditional CCTV systems used to be the standard, but now many people are shifting toward smarter solutions with motion tracking and instant alerts. Some of the newer AI-Vision security products even claim to differentiate between normal movement and real threats, which sounds like a big upgrade.
Do you think basic CCTV systems are still enough, or is it time to move toward AI-based security? I’d really like to hear what others are using and whether the smart features actually make a noticeable difference.
