Asus A7V BIOS 1005 Final Buggy?

by tkchan . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

I have downloaded the latest A7V BIOS from:
ftp://ftp.asustek.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_A/VIA_Chipset/Apollo_KT133/A7V/1005.zip

But after upgrading to the above bios, the machine keeps reboot non-stop and also I cannot go to the Boot menu in BIOS to reset the configuration data.

After spending a long time for changing the BIOS settings, it turns out to be the standard primary/secondary is conflicting with the new Promise ATA/100 onboard bios. By disabling both primary and secondary idechannels, the machines boots ok.

I have downgraded the Asus A7V motherboard to the 1004D bios.

Is the new 1005 Final BIOS buggy or am I doing anything wrong?
