ASUS monitor – DVI no signal

When at home, I usually plug my laptop (Lenovo Z560) into the internet and monitor/keyboard/mouse setup my husband arranged for me. He is out of the country on business and difficult to reach for help and advice. Yesterday, everything was working fine. Today, when I plug my laptop in, the ASUS monitor does nothing, and the light down in the righthand corner remains orange. When I try turning the monitor light off and back on again, the monitor the power light turns blue and the screen reads “DVI No Signal” for a moment, then the light turns orange and then the screen goes black. Can anyone help me with what I need to do to get things working again like they were yesterday?! Thank you.
