Auto-update Contacts in Outlook

I’ve got a couple users who have multiple contact lists in their outlook (we are using outlook 2003). They have some contacts that are listed in more than one list. Is there a way to configure the contact or list to automatically update the contact on all the lists or does this have to be done manually?
