AUX Outlet doesn’t recognize my headphones

Hello,

I have a problem with my laptop, hopefully someone could help me with.
I have a Dell laptop for over a year now, which has Windows 10 installed on.

Up until now, every time i connected my headphones to the AUX outlet, a message used to pop up, and ask me if I connected headphones/ speaker or any other audio device. I used to choose headphones, and they worked perfectly fine.

for about a month now, the laptop seems not to recognize when I connect the headphones. They work fine with my phone, and i also tried a new set of head phones, but the laptop simply doesn’t give me that pop up message and ask me what have I connected to the AUX outlet.

Any thoughts ?
