backup software

I am currently a user of arcserve and cybernetic hardware for backing up 160 GB of data on 4 servers.

I’m looking at my options and am leaning toward the Exabyte 430A autochanger for the hardware. On the software end, I’m not enthralled with Arcserve and it seems to lack the support for the mail slot and it seems to have difficulty recovering from a bad tape. Veritas’s Backup exec seems to respond better.

Looking for feedback on (1) backup performance between these two products and others of choice (2) recommendations and best value.
