barebones help

I’m just starting my first computer build and was wondering if anyone has any ideas for parts. I’m not a computer gamer, but I do love performance. I want my applications extremely responsive, basically I want a powerhouse.

I’ve just ordered the case which is

NZXT Tempest ATX Mid-Tower Case – Clear Sides, Front USB, eSATA Ports

I was thinking an intel I7 chip and a EVGA X58 SLI Classified Motherboard – LGA 1366, Intel X58, SATA, SLI Ready, CrossFireX Ready, Triple Channel DDR3, RAID, Hyperthreading motherboard….any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
