Best way to Migrage NDS to Active Direct

by newatit . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

Seeking design ideas on best method to migrate from NDS to Active Directory. Existing network has 15 Novell servers (mix of Netware 4.11 & 5.0); 35 Win NT 4.0 Servers; 3 Windows 3.51 servers, and 3 Unix servers (used as DNS & DHCP servers for the network).
The clients are mixed W95/98 w/several hundred NT 4.0 workstations, and just started W2L professional on new recent purchased machines. The current Network has 25 NT domains (setup by geography, department per location), and each location is connected to the main headquarters. Using T1 WAN link with little over 90% bandwidth available. The primary logon of all workstations is NETWARE. The user accounts are all on Netware servers.
1. Will need to collapse all NT 4 domains into single W2K domain w/minimal distruption for users.
2. Migrate all user accts from Netware to W2k Active Directory
3. Provide all worstations browse ability to active directory using the currently installed O/S’s.
4. Provide management of all workstationsfrom the W2K servers using Group Policies.
5. Configure active directory we can install software on all clients using Group Policy without upgrading or modifying existing O/S’s
6. Migrate all DNS & DHCP services from UNIX to W2K.
7. Ensure all clients are able to do NetBIOS name resolution.

Is this all possible?.. and any suggested methods are appreciated.
