Best way to secure a Win9x desktop?

by jjalert . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

Ok, here is the problem. I am currently using Intel LanDesk to manage about 115 Win9x client machines via remote control. We want these machines to be password protected when inactive, but if the users set a screen-saver password then we can’t access the desktop when we take remote control. I have thought about assigning a random password for each user and then keeping a master list, but since we change passwords every 60-days as part of our IT policy this would involve too much overhead. Does anyone know of a way to secure the win9x machines using the user’s domain password, or should we just invest in NT4 Workstation/2000 Pro?

Thanks,
