big or small

hi, I’m in process of deciding whether to build a pc or buy a “roll on roll off” laptop from a friend.i have little space so the laptop has a star there but the parts to change are a bit steep,in addtion in a “normal” pc u can slip in a new card more space etc but with a laptop its all integrated.What are the odds???
