Biometrics/Encription in Unix/WinNT

I have the need to find a solution that uses encription products available in Unix and WinNT 4/2000 platforms. Also, the solution must be coupled with some form of biometrics. The solution must support validating userid/pass as well as encripting files with the biometric device/smartcard. The whole idea of using this approach is to have users present their fingerprint or smartcard to access the computer as well as to encrypt/decrypt files, so the user does not need to remember complicated passwords.
Does PGP support such approach?
Any suggestions?
