BSOD at Login Screen

I upgraded from a working NT Workstation 4.0 to NT Server 4.0… Upgrade went fine. Ever since “successfully installed NT Server, restart computer” message I get BSOD at login screen. Doesn’t matter if I CTRL+ALT+DEL or not. No emergency boot disk. I have no problem with a re-install of WS but first I need access to my NTFS partition for data. I could have sworn there was a free program out there to let me access NTFS partitions?! Where is it? What is it? Am I screwed? Please help!
