Burning A CD In Linux

I am using cdrecord from the command line to try
to burn an iso from linux, however, it exits with
the error message:

cdrecord: Input/output error. test unit ready:
scsi sendcmd: retryable error
CDB: 00 00 00 00 00 00
status: 0x0 (GOOD STATUS)
cdrecord: No disk / Wrong disk!

This is the syntax I am using:
cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 ml9cd1.iso

The GUI apps don’t work either. What can I do?
