I enjoy the technical Q&A section or Techrepublic. If I need to solve a technical problem, I post my question and award points to the best answer(s). If I help someone solve a problem, I receive points.
I also enjoy the discussion section of Techrepublic. It gives me an idea about how fellow technical professionals feel about such things as certifications, career goals, changes in the industry, etc.
However, I am amazed at how many people attempt to gain “free” technical advice by postingtechnical questions in the discussion area instead of the technical Q&A section. Not only are those people attempting to circumvent the point system, they clog up the discussion area and make it difficult to find a legitimate discussion. I usually don’t respond to those questions, and it appears others don’t as well because they usually don’t receive too many responses.
My point is: Could Techrepublic users please keep technical questions to the technical Q&A section, and reserve the discussion space for legitimate discussions? Does anyone concur?
