Calendra and SUSE Linux installation

I have installed Red Hat linux on no. of machines and have got no problem with it ,but my experience with Suse and Calendra linux was very bad.
I am having an HCL busybee box at my place with configuration:-
1) Cyrix MMx 233Mhz.
2) 32 Mb ram
onboard display and snd card.
when i try to install other 2 linux just after installation starts the screen goes blank and moniter led starts blinking, I have even tried Calendra on Compaq proliant 1600 but i have landed yp with same difficulty.
Whatcould be the reason or have to be contend with Red Hat only.
