can a FAT32 usb flash be changed into FAT… if so let me know…

i have a 4gb flash… if a copy data’s nd if it exceeds 600 to 700 mb then the data gets mixed up or gets disappeared nd even i cant delete it… i just have to formate it… can any one tell me how to formate it using FAT not using FAT32…
