Can not access ‘regedit’

I am not able to access ‘regedit’ through start > run > regedit…when entered pop up shows some message – “use administration account…” I have XP-2 OS at my personal machine. I tried to switch user by logging off but there is only one user/account…that means it should be administraion account…i guess…please help…
