Can only start IE in Safe Mode

I am using Windows XP home edition and recently installed service pack 2.0
Since then I can only access the Internet (with Internet Explorer 7.0) in Safe Mode, but when I go back to normal mode, no pages can be displayed… Amy suggestions?
