cannot save w2k file on winme pc

Most software works fine using 2 mapped drives on my winme PC but unable to save excell or word files from other pc’s and get long delays and extra problems if a w2k computer is on the network or trys to copy a file onto the winme pc – usually failsneeding a reboot. Any ideas? I am using tcp/ip network through a linksys hub/router
