Can’t browse internet after upgrading to

by lparra . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

About a week ago I was happily running Win98 and connecting to the internet via Netzero on a 56k modem browsing with IE5. I had recently setup a peer to peer network between two machines and decided I wanted to share my internet connection between the two. To my dismay, I discovered that this could only be done through a service that is only available through Windows 98 SE. I proceeded to upgrade to SE and it seemed to go through smoothly. I added the Internet Connection Sharing service andwas able to pull up websites on the client PC, but not the host PC. I decided to remove the service, but this did not help. I removed the NIC and reconfigured the network on the host (now standalone) PC and still no luck. I’ve now gone through several sessions of reinstalling TCP/IP, Client for MSN’s, Dial up Adapter, Modem, Netzero…everything. I even reinstalled SE and installed Netscape Navigator, but to no avail. Somebody please help! Aaaarrrrgh.
