Can’t network Xp home with 98 SE

I have 2 computers plugged into a hub. One is Win XP Home and the other is Win 98 SE. We both are in the workgroup “WORKGROUP” I installed Netbeui, tcp/ip and ipx/spx. File sharing for Microsoft clients is also enabled on both machines. However I cannot ping the 98 machine and cannot see it on the network. Someone must be able to help?
