Can’t remove outlook express email account

I have outlook express 6.0 When I go to accounts highlight account then hit remove, then hit OK it removes it but then when I close it and open it again the account that I removed is still there. a real pain as I don’t have this account anymore so it waits for username and password and wont let me go to the other accounts that are good .Please help!!
