Capture a Networked Printer?

In my office we all share a networked laser printer. sometimes someone will need to open tray one and insert special paper (transparency etc..) so they can print on that instead of regular 8.5×11. Currently whenever someone does this they must yell out “DONT PRINT” untill they are done printing from tray one. Usually this is followed by a few loud and distant “CAN I PRINT YET!?!?”.

My question is, Is there a way to capture the networked printer so that only you can print for a few minutes but all other printjobs from others will be stored in buffer until you release the printer?

Please help its turning into a zoo in here 🙂
