Career Improvement

by michael.gayle . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I am currently at a crossroad in my career, and cannot come to a concise desision on which direction to focus on.
First, let me provide a little background (I will spare you the resume).
over 20 years experience in the computer industry ranging from computer operator/programming, to technical support.
I would like to enhance my career with either MCSE 2000 certification or WEB Development training.
At the same time, I need to supplement my income due to new family expences.
Time is of premium value, thus I have to consider short term gains, as well as, long term. I wave some experience in developing WEB sites with MS FrontPage 2000, and are considering learning additional applications such as ASP, Visual Interdev, JAVA, and SQL to supplement my expertise in FrontPage.
My main concerne in this area is that the WEB development arena is getting very crowded, and would not like to get lost in the crowd.
I must point out that is intend to do ‘self study’ regardless of the direction I decide to take.
Your input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks:
Mike
