Career Path

I have a Bachleor’s degree in Commerce plus I am a certified E-Com professional from IBM currently working as an Analyst in a IT company for past 1 1/2 years. I am strong in programming but my interest lies in HRD. I am helping my HR-VP in few HR process like recruitment and training.
I wish to make HR as my career and for that I am doing a Post Graduate Diploma in HR and to have IT as the backbone I am doing Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
I would like to know does going in HRD sector help me what would be my next step to get into it.
