Carrer Advice – Lay Off issues

Hello,

I need some carrer advice, and I thought would be good to ask on the internet.
Well, I work in a multinational telecom company with software developement, and now I am a Coordinator where I coordinate teams in other countries on the project. The company will have now a 40% lay off. I really don?t know how to handle this.. The Thing is that they will only notice you to leave and give you a dismissal package. But, if you find another job, MAYBE they give you this package. So, I don?t know if it is time to move on or try to stay there. I really don?t have experience with some technologies, like Java, and I think will be difficult to find a place, more difficult with the salary I am paid. What should I do??
