CD Disappear in Win2000- ! inDevManager

by christofides . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Hello,
I am facing a problem with a friend’s computer.
Windows 2000 installation.
He Installed Power DVD Program without having a DVD Rom drive (CDRom drive available)
The PowerDVD changed the DMA after the insertion of a DVD Disk in the CD-Rom Drive (Pearl Harbor Movie)
The user after that uninstalled the PowerDVD Software.
After Reboot there are no CD’s found in the system.
However You can see the existance of the CDRom and the CDRW drive from the Device Manager of the Windows 2000 butthere is an ! in front of them (of cource).
When I click the properties of the any CD on the “DVD/CD-Rom drives”, I see the following
Error: “Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)
Click Troubleshooter to start the troubleshooter for this device.”

I need your help in order to restore the whatever driver’s neccessary in order the CD-rom and CDRW deviced to be operational again.

Thank you very much in advance
Your help is very-very much appreciated.
