CD/DVD on Sattelite A205

I recently got a new Toshiba Sattelite A205 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. But, whenever I insert a CD/DVD, it doesnt read it. It doesnt even show up on the My Computer screen. Its like it doesnt even exist. Is there something wrong with my computer?
