CD-key Windows 95

A client has presented me with her Win95 PC. Looks like it has failed due to high end games being played on it. The only way forward seems to be Format & Re-install. Client has no CD or CD Key. I have a CD. The system cannot boot beyond autoexec.bat. Is it possible to locate the CD-key in the dos files? How? Thanks
