CD rom not visible in Windows Explorer

I have an Intel i430vx motherboard with a Pentium 166 mhz Intel Processor, 64 mb RAM and 4 gb HDD(Antique, I know!). I have installed Windows 98 on this system and it has applications like Microsoft Visual studio (VFP, VSS, VInterdev) and MSDN running along with the PWS.

The queer thing is that the CD drive is not visible sometimes in the windows explorer. Once I reboot my system, the cd drive re-appears. I need to get rid of this occurence.

The system also displays an error message “inetinfo error……” at shutdown. I have no other problems with the system. It is part of a network.

Please help.
