Certification Required?

I’ve been a network administrator and MIS manager for 3 years at the company I work for, which has 30 machines and growing fast. I was wondering if companies are requiring certifications, certifications + experience, or a degree or all the above forpeople who fill this type of role. What’s the pay for this type of role in the San Diego area?
