Charts in Access 97

Is there a patch for Charts in Access 97? I change the format to Currency in Microsoft Graph, update, switch back to Design View of the Chart, it shows successfully that it has been changed to Currency, proceed to print preview and all the Currencyformats have been wiped out. If I keep flipping back and forth from Design view to Print Preview, I might get lucky and it will show Currency with 0 Decimal places. But as soon as I close the program and reopen it, again it wipes out all my formatting changes. Why is this causing me so much grief? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
