CHKDSK Log?

by borginva . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

I have been having major issues with my drives and have been getting so many errors related to corrupted MTF, bad sectors, etc.:
==================================
Inserting an index entry with ID xxxx into index $SII

Repairing the security file record segment

Deleting index file

Found corrupted index file

Cleaning up xxx unused index entries from index $Sxx

Fixing mirror copy of the security descriptors data stream
==================================
Windows is wasted too but I managed to fix SAFE MODE.

My question is, can I run, for boot up or system recovery console if I get back into it (via Windows CD or Ultimate Boot CD), a “chkdsk /r” that will also create a log file? I checked Event Viewer but found nothing in there. I like to create a log file under c:\ to see all the

I come to ask because it may not even boot back up, so if a log is created, I can look for it (using NTFS Reader boot CD). It is not something I want to try on my laptop since there is no reason to run that command.

Thank you.
