Choosing a Red Hat Package for Home Use

by qhcomputingny . Updated 22 years, 4 months ago

I was wondering, I have Red Hat 9 at home dual booting on my Windows XP machine. I found recently that Red Hat wasn’t going to support this operating system (wasn’t going to release a next version). What version can I buy that would be good for home that is going to come out soon, that would have most of the drivers for my 1 year old Gateway system. When I installed Red Hat 9 I found that the sound driver was not available, and the nic card driver (although it worked most of the time) was not the correct one. I am new to Linux and wanted to explore some more options as far as what to put on my pc when the next version comes out that wouldn’t be too complicated for me to operate, but at the same time would be the “latest and greatest” Linux distro to install and play with. Thanks for your help in advance.
