Click on email address hyperlink from web page and 60 more IE windows open

I have a user that running Win XP Pro SP2, using IE 6.0 SP2, when he click on an email address hyperlink from the web page, his computer lock up for moments then more than 60 IE opening, this also true went he click on the hyperlink with the email address either in Excel or Word. He also have MS office 2003.

Any one run into this problem?

Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
