Combining Cat-5 with Cat-6 Networks

We are currently running a 10/100 Network. We want to add a second Gigabit card in two of the computers and connect them with a Cat-6 crossover cable to take advantage of faster data transfer.

Will this work? or Should we just buy the Cat-6 hub and take out the Cat-5 card?
